The Role
The Specialty Medical Director will combine approximately 50% clinical duties with 50% leadership and administrative responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering advanced specialty veterinary care
• Leading and mentoring veterinary specialists and clinical teams
• Supporting hospital vision, culture, and medical standards
• Participating in recruitment, training, and professional development
• Collaborating with regional leadership on strategic planning and hospital growth
• Supporting clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
The successful candidate will receive support from regional medical leadership and an extensive specialist network.

• Approximately 50% clinical and 50% administrative responsibilities
Candidate Requirements
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
• Board-certified specialist or residency-trained veterinarian
• Eligible for veterinary licensure in California
• Strong leadership and communication skills
