Surgical Lead Vet – Orthopaedics & Complex Surgery | London

We’re currently working with a leading veterinary group in London that is seeking a Surgical Lead Vet to join its award-winning team, covering shifts across three surgeries in the Greater London area. This newly created role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced AVP/Surgical Senior Vet or certificate holder in orthopaedics to lead and develop in-house orthopaedic and complex soft tissue services.

The position provides access to approximately 12,000 active customers across the London practices, offering an established surgical caseload alongside opportunities to grow services and accept external referrals. All locations are easily accessible within 30 minutes from central London via underground or overground, or approximately 45 minutes by car.

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional clinical expertise combined with strong interpersonal skills, enabling seamless integration into existing teams and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and their pets. The Surgical Lead Vet will consistently deliver excellence in clinical care and customer service, while also supporting, training, and mentoring colleagues.

This is a full-time role (39 hours per week, 1 in 4 weekends), though flexible arrangements may be considered. As the role spans multiple sites, the successful applicant must be confident, adaptable, and comfortable working across different teams and environments.

The position is surgically focused, with some morning and afternoon consultation appointments to support caseload development and post-operative care. Daily administrative time is also provided.
