Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of three years’ GP experience, ideally with a special interest in dentistry, to join a modern, purpose-built practice in Rotherham.
As a key member of the surgery team, the Veterinary Surgeon is responsible for driving excellence in both customer service and clinical care. The role focuses on promoting pet wellbeing through preventive healthcare, while confidently diagnosing and treating sick and injured pets. As one of the surgery’s clinicians, the successful candidate will lead by example, upholding the highest standards of clinical governance and professional conduct.
The Role
Clinical Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality consultations, investigations, and surgical procedures, providing outstanding first-opinion medicine and surgery with a preventive and diagnostic focus.

Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely clinical records for each patient.

Adhere to established Practice Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and clinical governance requirements.

Support the nursing team in undertaking Schedule 3 activities appropriately.

Take clinical direction from the Head Vet and promote internal referrals to ensure clinical excellence.

Ensure appropriate inpatient care and effective clinical handovers between colleagues and out-of-hours providers.

Collaborate positively and professionally with the entire surgery team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Support and mentor colleagues undertaking VetGDP or sponsored training where appropriate.

Working Pattern

4 days per week
