Job Description:

We are currently working with a AAHA accredited hospital based in Calabash, North Carolina, that is seeking an associate Veterinarian to complement their team.  The clinic is offering a $15 000 sign on bonus.

This hospital has been providing care in Calabash, Shallotte, Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Longs, Little River, Cherry Grove and the surrounding areas since 1996.

You will join a full-service clinic offering a mixture of wellness and sick patients, routine surgeries, and Palliative care. There is no overnight hospitalization

This is a full-time role with Saturday on a rotation. Practice opening hours are: Monday – Friday 7.30am – 5.30pm, Saturday 8.00am – 1.00pm.

Responsibilities:

-Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
-Treat and dress wounds
-Perform surgery on animals
-Test for and vaccinate against diseases
-Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
-Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
-Prescribe medication
-Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high-quality care

Qualifications:

-Veterinary Medicine, Surgical, and Diagnostic skills

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills

-Ability to work effectively in a team environment

-Experience in small animal care is required

-Knowledge of preventive care and wellness programs

-State licensure and DVM degree from an accredited veterinary school
