About the Role

We’re working with a leading 24/7 specialty and emergency hospital in Tustin, CA that is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Criticalist to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary veterinary team. This role offers exposure to complex emergency cases, advanced critical care procedures, and opportunities to mentor and collaborate with colleagues across specialties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced emergency and critical care for small animals, including triage, stabilization, and ongoing ICU management.
  • Utilize advanced monitoring and supportive care tools such as mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, transfusions, and advanced fluid therapy.
  • Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, surgery, oncology, neurology, dermatology, dentistry, and ophthalmology.
  • Mentor and guide junior veterinarians, interns, and support staff in emergency and critical care procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care, client communication, and ethical veterinary practice.

  • 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Hospital with large ICU and treatment areas
  • Advanced imaging: 64-slice CT, digital radiology, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and endoscopy
  • Two fully equipped surgical suites

Candidate Profile

  • Board-certified or residency-trained in Critical Care or Emergency Medicine
  • Licensed or eligible for veterinary licensure in California
  • Passionate about patient care and client communication
  • Collaborative team player with teaching and mentorship experience
  • Lifelong learner, motivated to grow professionally
