About the Opportunity

We’re working with a well-established small animal veterinary hospital in Kingwood, TX that is seeking a Medical Director (DVM) to lead a collaborative and experienced clinical team. This is a unique opportunity for a veterinarian to combine hands-on clinical practice with leadership, shaping the medical direction and standards of care within the hospital.

The Medical Director role offers the autonomy and influence of ownership—without the financial risk—supported by dedicated teams in operations, marketing, HR, and administration.

Leadership & Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical care to small animal patients (dogs and cats)
• Establish and uphold medical standards and best practices within the hospital
• Mentor and support associate veterinarians and clinical staff
• Foster a collaborative, positive team culture
• Partner with leadership teams to drive hospital performance and growth
• Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

• Full-time position
• Approximately 34 hours of scheduled appointments per week
• Set day off each week plus rotating Saturdays
• Hospital hours:
  • Monday – Friday: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Saturday: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
• No on-call responsibilities
• Nearby emergency and specialty hospitals provide after-hours support

Candidate Profile

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Texas
• Leadership experience or interest in a Medical Director role
• Strong clinical, communication, and decision-making skills
• Passion for mentoring and team development
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and veterinary ethics
