Medical Director – Lead a Progressive Veterinary Team in San Pablo, CA

We’re currently working with a well-established veterinary hospital in San Pablo, California, that is seeking a Medical Director to lead and inspire its professional team. Role Summary
Reporting to the field management team, the Medical Director ensures the hospital maintains exceptional medical quality and patient care. This includes mentoring and leading associate veterinarians, guiding clinical protocols, and supporting staff development. In addition to clinical duties, the Medical Director participates in hospital management, including staff evaluations, financial review, training, and strategic planning.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday: 8:00 am – 7:00 pm; Saturday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm

• 10 or 12-hour shifts; weekend shifts rotational

Patient Cases

• Mix of 60% wellness visits and 40% common pet concerns (allergies, GI issues, ear/eye problems, dermatology, wounds, pain, respiratory or urinary concerns)

• Dedicated surgery day per DVM for soft tissue, spay/neuter, and dental procedures

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary negotiable ($64,480 – $200,000 annually)

• Medical Director stipend and annual bonuses

• Sign-on, relocation, and longevity bonuses available

• Eligibility for additional variable pay programs
