We’re working with a well-established AAHA-accredited small animal veterinary hospital in Denver, Colorado that is seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to lead its clinical team while continuing to practice high-quality medicine in a collaborative and modern environment.

The Practice
This AAHA-accredited general practice provides comprehensive veterinary care for cats and dogs, managing a varied caseload including wellness, preventative care, and medical cases.
Facilities and services include:
• Digital radiography
• In-house laboratory diagnostics
• Routine soft tissue surgery
• Spay and neuter procedures
• Modern diagnostic and treatment capabilities
• Fear Free handling techniques where possible

The Role
The Medical Director will combine clinical veterinary responsibilities with leadership duties, supporting both patient care and hospital operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering high-quality veterinary care and surgery
• Leading and mentoring veterinary associates and support staff
• Maintaining medical quality and clinical standards
• Supporting hospital growth and team development
• Participating in clinical governance and patient care discussions
• Collaborating with operational and leadership teams
The role offers the opportunity to practice medicine with the support typically associated with ownership, while benefiting from dedicated operational, HR, payroll, and marketing support teams.
Schedule
• Full-time position
• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Hospital hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 7:00pm
- Saturday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Candidate Requirements
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
• Eligible for veterinary licensure in Colorado
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Commitment to high clinical standards and patient care
• Interest in mentorship, collaboration, and team development
