The reason I’m asking is because I’m currently working with a forward-thinking practice based in Sunderland, that is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to complement their team.
Sunderland is easily commutable from Newcastle, South Shields, Seaham, Whitley Bay and other areas within the North East.
The practice
The practice provides comprehensive and affordable care for sick and injured animals. They’re run by teams of friendly and professional veterinary surgeons, nurses and assistants who are all dedicated to providing you with the best possible service.
Whether your pet needs their annual vaccinations renewing or they’re in for a more serious ailment, you’ll find the practice is equipped to provide a variety of treatments. They each have operating theatres and x-ray machines as well as in-house laboratories and hospital wards for poorly pets that need to stay in overnight.
You will be supported by a fantastic team of 5 vets, 12 RVNs, 4 SVNs and a strong team of receptionists who will ensure you have everything needed to achieve your career goals.
The role
The role is a full-time position, however the clinic does appreciate that this might not work for everyone so is happy to consider hours to suit you.
The Saturday rota is 1:4 with no Sundays or OOH.
The role is to go between two sites in the local area, and you will join a close-knit team providing great Veterinary care.
The clinic is looking for an experienced Small animal Veterinary Surgeon who is confident in all aspects of a GP role and has experience in supporting a team.
You will see a varied caseload and have clinical freedom. If you’re also looking to develop your skills further CPD and Certificate, this is encouraged and can be supported
You will also be supported by a highly motivated Nursing team, with a number of them holding post VN qualifications – Graduate Diploma, Certificates in Emergency & Critical Care, Infection Control, Feline Friendly Nursing and Dermatology.
In return, the practice is offering a very competitive salary of up to £80 000.
