Small animal Veterinary Surgeon – Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

We’re working with a busy, locally owned small animal practice in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire that is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. The practice is happy to consider all options from fixed term, Permanent, full and part time hours.

About the Practice

This first opinion veterinary practice prides itself on providing excellent care to every patient. The team is friendly, inclusive, and experienced, and the team includes:

• Supportive three vet team including a new graduate.
• Strong RVN-to-vet ratio with nurses assisting with procedures and consults.
• Dedicated reception staff.
• Visiting orthopaedic surgeon and cardiologist, allowing most work-ups to be kept in-house.

Out-of-hours support is provided by Village Vets, and there are multiple well-regarded referral clinics nearby. Staff benefit from excellent mentorship and a supportive environment.

Location

The practice is conveniently located for commuting, with London and Cambridge easily accessible via public transport, and road access via the A14 and A1. The local area is safe and friendly, offering amenities and green spaces for a good work-life balance.

About You

• Ideally 2–3 years’ clinical experience (new graduates will be considered for support and mentorship).
• Passionate about patient care and client communication.
• Comfortable with routine presentations and eager to progress in a busy general practice.
• Flexible with work patterns to fit your lifestyle, including options such as late starts, longer lunch breaks, split shifts, or custom day combinations.

The practice can tailor your role to your interests, whether you prefer a surgical bias, consult-only, or a mix.
