Date Posted: 19 February 2026
Employment Type: Veterinary Surgeon
Company Name: Artemis Vet Search
Location: Bedford, Bedfordshire
Salary: £36000 - £60 000
Job Description:
Salary: £36,000 to £60,000+ FTE (dependent on experience)
We’re currently working with an established independent Small Animal Veterinary Hospital in Bedford, Bedfordshire, that is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its supportive and forward-thinking team.
This well-respected practice offers a varied and engaging caseload within a fully equipped hospital environment. Professional development is actively encouraged, including support for certificates (typically considered following successful completion of a six-month probation period). Branch work is undertaken by experienced team members who enjoy that setting, so applicants who prefer to remain hospital-based are fully supported. The practice values individual strengths and encourages clinicians to develop areas of particular interest.
The hospital accommodates a wide range of species and is an Approved Veterinary Nurse Training Practice and a Vetsure Graduate Friendly Practice. Several vets are qualified VetGDP Advisors, and members of the team include Advanced Practitioners holding certificates in Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, and Small Animal Medicine.
This opportunity would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with solid experience in small animal medicine and surgery who is keen to continue developing within an independent hospital setting. Case continuity, collaboration, and genuine work–life balance are integral to the practice culture.
This is a full time role, consisting of 37.5 hours per week, with 1:4 weekends and 1 night on call per week.
